Whats all the buzz about Google AdWords?

AdWords is an Online Advertising Platform for Business People wanting to display their product or service ads on Google search or its advertising networks. Adwords mainly focus on Keywords. Thus, Businesses must set a budget for their ads and only pay when someone clicks on your Ad.  The keyword, when searched for triggers your ad to be shown on the first page of the Google search result page.
Now you may have little understanding of Google AdWords and how do they help in your Business.
Before Getting into a basic AdWords Campaign setup, you must know what is mean by a campaign?

AdWords Campaign:

A campaign is a set of Adgroups that shares budget, location, and other settings. It is mainly used to organize categories of products and service that you offer. Each AdWords account may have one or more Campaigns running.

AdWords AdGroup:

An AdGroup contains a one or more ads that share a common Keywords. Each of your campaigns may have two or more AdGroups.

7 Steps to create a Campaign

Before starting an AdWords Campaign, you should create an account. To create an account, go to  https://adwords.google.com, find the get started button and sign up for AdWords account. Once sign up is complete, log in to your account, Click “Create your First Campaign” Button.

Step1: Select Campaign type and name:

First, select the campaign type based on your business goal. There are many campaign types available, we will learn about each campaign type little later. But for now, We highly recommend a “search network only” option and give your campaign a name. Next, you will find more campaign types to choose. You can tick an “All Features” Type, that helps to reach customers with any kind of ad format.

Also, remove the tick mark from “Include search partners” for now (based on your goals, can tick them later).

Step 2: Setting Geographic Location:

Now, decide your geographic location you want to target. You can target whole country, a region of Country, a state or a city. Also, you can choose custom Geographic areas, such as latitude or longitude coordinates, the radius of a set number of miles or kilo-meters. To do this, Click “let me choose” and search for the most suitable area that you wish to advertise for.

Step 3: Setting Up your Bid Strategy:

Setting your budget may be difficult at the start. First, Change the bid to “manual Bid Set up”. By setting manual, you will have more control and will help learn AdWords better. You can always change the manual setting to one of the automatic settings later.

Google offers many payment options: ” you can make payments before your ad is showing and also you can make payment automatically. Some businesses are also eligible for “monthly invoicing”.

Step 4: Ad Extensions:

Your Ad Extensions and scheduling are an important part of campaign setup. But leave it for now, we will set up later.

Click “save and continue” button at last.

Now, You have to set your Ad Groups.

Step 5: First Ad Group and first ad Creation

First, give your Ad Group a name. More people click the ad when they find the headline includes the keyword what they are searching. You have to give two headlines, each of not more than 25 characters.

You have to place your final URL. Once a user clicks your ad they should land to the page where they can make a purchase or sign up. You have to give path fields. The path fields is a display URL in Google search they give customers an idea of where they end up landing when they click your ad.

Then you will find a description box where you have to describe your product or service.
Here is a short version of your ad template:
Final URL:
Headline 1: 30charcters
Headline2: 30charcters
Description: 80charcters

Step 6: Insert your Keywords:

Select your Keywords either by using suggestion by Google AdWords or make your keyword list and paste them into the keywords section. You may match your keywords based on your business goals such as “broad match”, “phrase match”, “exact match”.

Step 7: Review and billing:

Once you have pasted the keywords, click “set up the bill later”. Now your Campaign is ready. Review all the campaigns, AdGroups and Ads before making a payment. Once all done, go to the Billing section to make your payment.

Once your payment is process completed, your ads start running on the Google Search page.
